The idea of Father’s Day first originated in 1910. However, it took years before people saw value and worth of it. U.S. President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea in 1924, and President Lyndon B. Johnson recognized it in 1966. President Richard Nixon signed legislation making Father’s Day a national holiday in 1972. It is celebrated every year on the third Sunday in June.
It falls in the summer season; it is a great time when the families get together and look forward to family picnics, plan a barbecue, fishing and hiking together. A good number of restaurants and movie theatres are becoming places of cheerful Father’s Day outing too. On this day all dad’s get the spotlight, are noticed, and recognized in their own distinctive ways by the people in their network. It has grown into a beautiful celebration to create happy family memories, renew relationships, and simply have a good fun time.
Sometimes young children go out of their way to show their love and gratitude for their father by giving memorable gifts and other appropriate dad memorabilia.
